AVON Breast Cancer Walk

AZ Walks as One for Breast Cancer

On 8 November 2009, AstraZeneca employees and family members came 250 strong to the SM Mall of Asia Complex, Malolos, Legaspi and Vigan to “walk” in support of the AVON Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye Campaign.  Walks were also held in Cebu, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro on 4 October 2009. Swathed in pink shirts and waving pink balloons, they walked to the festive beat of neo-latin music in the global fight against breast cancer!

For the past 4 years, AstraZeneca has been “walking” with AVON as their sole pharmaceutical partner in the Philippines for the Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye Campaign.  The annual walk is the culminating activity for advocacies that are geared towards creating greater awareness for breast cancer and the global fight against the disease. The “walk”, which happens simultaneously in over 50 countries in the world, is not only a statement of support but a celebration of feisty women cancer survivors and their stories of courage and triumph.  It is participated in by patients and their families, women’s groups, students, media, healthcare professionals and corporations.
